Leaving Buonconvento behind, you face one of the most challenging sections of the route, the famous climb of Castiglione del Bosco. The journey continues towards Camigliano, through the authentic landscapes of Tuscany and its harmonious Mediterranean scrub. Along the way, the luckiest riders may spot some of the region’s rich wildlife. On this stage, cyclists encounter the Poggio alle Mura Castle, perched on a hill at the confluence of the Orcia and Ombrone rivers. A cypress-lined avenue will guide each pedal stroke towards the gates of this ancient manor, located in the heart of vast Brunello di Montalcino vineyards, home to one of Italy’s finest wines.
